The site of the Crest Theater has been a fixture in Sacramento since 1912. Demolished in 1946, the grand opening of the Crest Theater was in 1949, and was quite the Hollywood movie party attended by many stars. In 1995, the Crest received a one million dollar restoration. The design reflects the beautiful colors and art deco of the 20's and 30's and now hosts movies and special theatre festivals, concerts, and private events. The venue is located within walking distance to parking, many restaurants, shopping, and the capitol building.
